Absolutely thrilled with my new oblique flourish! I’ve been looking at treating myself to one of Tom’s Studio items for a while but couldn’t settle for which one to buy. Finally settled on the oblique Flourish in the colour ‘Joy’ and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s absolutely beautiful and you can tell from the moment you open the packaging just how much time and effort has gone into developing/making it. It’s heavier than my usual nib holders so I’m still getting used to it but it’s already my favourite. The colour scheme is beautiful and it’s a pleasure to use. Thank you Tom’s Studio for a lovely piece of kit - worth every penny
I am beyond pleased with my Flourish Oblique holder! I’m from the US and received the blush color in a timely fashion (about 7 business days from the shipping email). It is true to the color on the website. I love that the weight is balanced and that I don’t have to deal with screws like other universal holders. I’ve been able to use tiny nibs (Hunt 104) and the larger ones (Nikko G, Hiro BP) with no difficulty. I will say that there is a bit of a learning curve if you’re coming from a traditional brass ****** holder. I recommend taking time to learn which angle works best for you to lessen the chances of your nib catching. All in all, this is my go-to pen. I would absolutely recommend!
Love my new oblique pen. much easier to hold and adapt to various nibs. Also great colour
I have bought this to have a fresh new start at my calligraphy school. Once it arrived, I immediately loved it! The color, consistency(the screw might seem fragile but it’s not!) and the curve! fits my hand perfectly. Not too heavy, but with very good weight. I just loveeeeee it. There were no issue delivering to Japan. Even very quick!
Tom still uses the same design principles as the very first pen he made for his wife. It's important to him to create products that his customers will cherish for the rest of their lives. It's why each every one of my products has a lifetime guarantee.

Tools of the past were made by master craftspeople that cared passionately about their craft and the experience of the people using their products. We seem to have lost the 'soul' of these tools in the age of mass production. It's my mission to bring the creative soul back to the tools we use every day.

Seeing his calligrapher wife, Gemma Milly, using a mass-produced calligraphy pen inspired Tom to craft a collection of pens that matched the high quality of her work. Using a 60-year-old engineering lathe, he now makes pens for some of the world’s most celebrated calligraphers and stationery brands.

From the first pen I made for my wife to the pens I now make for my customers around the world. I put the same care and attention into each and every pen. I love what I do and hope that it shows in the finished product.
