Got this along with the new carrot pen as well as after lots of people talking about it in my calligraphy group. It's a great simple little tool to help your dip pen last longer between each dip. A very simple tiny magnet and spring which when placed behind the vent hole and completely dipped gives you a bigger amount of ink to write with. I tried using it on a Brause nib first (has a rose on it) but it didn't work for that one (think might be too flexible). However I popped my Nikko g in and away I went. I wrote the alphabet 1 .5 times compared to just half without) - that's just from a quick play round on rubbish calligraphy practice pad. I also liked the simple packaging it came in. Thank you Tom's studio for a great little tool! *****
This little one-dip wonder is indeed a wonder! What a clever idea! I will be using one all the time now.
The second I saw the video of Gemma using this nifty little tool, I knew I needed to try it. I used it literally the second it arrived (beautifully packaged) through my door and all I can say is WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE. Or at least the 3 years I’ve been doing calligraphy.. it slots into any nib super easily and oh my goodness does it deliver. I normally have to dip my nib every few words but this thing lets me write sentence after sentence. I expected it to maybe let me write two to three long words but it’s more like 22 words. Yes I counted. I could not be happier or more in awe, and I can’t wait to come back and buy more tools from Tom’s miraculous studio. Thank you so much.
It does a great job of holding so much ink. I can write so much more with just one dip. Great idea.
Tom still uses the same design principles as the very first pen he made for his wife. It's important to him to create products that his customers will cherish for the rest of their lives. It's why each every one of my products has a lifetime guarantee.

Tools of the past were made by master craftspeople that cared passionately about their craft and the experience of the people using their products. We seem to have lost the 'soul' of these tools in the age of mass production. It's my mission to bring the creative soul back to the tools we use every day.

Seeing his calligrapher wife, Gemma Milly, using a mass-produced calligraphy pen inspired Tom to craft a collection of pens that matched the high quality of her work. Using a 60-year-old engineering lathe, he now makes pens for some of the world’s most celebrated calligraphers and stationery brands.

From the first pen I made for my wife to the pens I now make for my customers around the world. I put the same care and attention into each and every pen. I love what I do and hope that it shows in the finished product.
