Inspired by the Japanese concept of Zakka, which loosely translates to “miscellaneous things” or "stuff".  These handmade spun brass trays are designed to give a home to the bits and bobs that may clutter your desk and in-turn giving you the headspace to do what you do best, create.

Each dish is hand spun by Craig from Spin 360.  He really is a master of his craft having been hand-making beautiful pieces for over 20 years.

Choose between the deeply textured hand patinated verdi-gris finish or natural spun brass.

Good to know

- Each dish is matte lacquered to keep them looking as good as the day you bought them.

- It’s effortlessly versatile. Use it as an elegant place to store coins, keys or jewellery, or as a soap dish in the bathroom.

- Measures 90mm x 6mm deep

Simply beautiful

I’ve fallen in love with so many of Tom’s amazing pieces of craftsmanship and was planning on buying the spin dish when buying my next pen. However I spotted the patinated verdi-gris finish and instantly knew I had to have it, and wow it’s so beautiful! Knowing the spin dish is completely handmade makes you appreciate it even more. It’s the perfect accessory next to my teal pen holder. Calligraphy accessories I’ll treasure for many years to come.

Why Tom's Studio

Values & Craftsmanship

Tom still uses the same design principles as the very first pen he made for his wife. It's important to him to create products that his customers will cherish for the rest of their lives. It's why each every one of my products has a lifetime guarantee.

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris

Creativity Tools

Tools of the past were made by master craftspeople that cared passionately about their craft and the experience of the people using their products. We seem to have lost the 'soul' of these tools in the age of mass production. It's my mission to bring the creative soul back to the tools we use every day.

"Creativity is contagious, pass it on" Albert Einstein

Tried and Tested

Seeing his calligrapher wife, Gemma Milly, using a mass-produced calligraphy pen inspired Tom to craft a collection of pens that matched the high quality of her work. Using a 60-year-old engineering lathe, he now makes pens for some of the world’s most celebrated calligraphers and stationery brands.

A Labour Of Love

From the first pen I made for my wife to the pens I now make for my customers around the world.  I put the same care and attention into each and every pen.  I love what I do and hope that it shows in the finished product.
